The Will Mills Youth Centre
The Will Mills Centre
The opening of the Youth Centre was a joint project between The William Mills Foundation and The Bewdley School. Thanks to national lottery funding, we have refurbished the centre, which was opened in Feb 2022, so it's a lively and welcoming environment for children to attend.
The centre facilitates a variety of programmes and provisions for young people in the Wyre Forest area.
The core activity of the centre is ‘The Youth Hub’, run on weekday evenings. The William Mills Foundation will be offering its ‘Future Steps Programme’ to children from Wyre Forest Schools. This highly innovative bespoke programme were run in 2018 and 2019 until COVID stopped delivery, we hope to resurrect the programme in future years and the centre will enable the Foundation to open this offer out to other schools in the area.
The Will Mills Centre also acts as a multi-agency hub during the school day, with access available for a range of services to support young people, including health care, social care and community policing. Once further established, it is also intended to offer hire of the facilities at weekends to members of the Bewdley community, for clubs and other activities.
